ABOUT THE WINGFOIL COURSE

Wingfoiling is this summer's new and exciting water sport that has taken the world by storm in recent years. Wingfoiling is relatively new in Norwegian waters, which is why we now offer courses for those who want to try it out! Does the idea of wingfoiling around the islands in Ryfylke or foiling with the power of the waves around Jæren sound tempting? Then you should book a course & read more below!

Program:

We start the course on land by going through the following:

  • Rigging, assembling, and safely handling wingfoil equipment

  • Wing control on land

  • Safety related to weather, wind, and which spots you can wingfoil on

  • Positioning your body and weight on the board

Once the land-based part is finished, we go into the water to learn:

  • How to maintain height without standing on the board

  • The technique to get up on the board with the wing and maintain height

  • How to get up on the hydrofoil

  • Training in the water with the help of a safety boat! (not available at all spots)

Recommendation:

Our course program is designed to be completed in 1 session of 4 hours. Wingfoiling requires time and practice, so we recommend two sessions to get properly started with wingfoiling and get past the first challenging part of the sport. Save yourself of frustrating time and potentially damaging your own gear.

Why split into different sessions?

Wingfoiling, foiling, and water sports, in general, are physically demanding. By booking two wingfoil courses, the progression increases significantly. Therefore, we offer to hold the courses on separate days if you, as a customer, wish and have the opportunity to do so. If you are unable to complete it on different days, it's perfectly fine to do everything in one day with some rest time between the sessions as well.
