ABOUT SNOWKITE COURSE IN SIRDAL
Snowkiting Course in Sirdal
Our snow kiting course in Sirdal is our newest destination for snowkiting, designed for day trips or two-day courses. Courses are arranged upon request and based on available capacity, and they are only held if weather, ice and snow conditions in Sirdal allow.
The courses will primarily be held at Hunnevatn in Hunnedalen if conditions are suitable. This location offers easy access to beginner-friendly terrain. If conditions are unfavorable here, we have alternative spots available in Sirdal.
Who is the course for?
This snowkite course is for everyone, regardless of skill level, age, or previous experience. Each course is tailored to your abilities and goals. Whether you’re starting snowkiting from scratch or have some prior experience, we will adapt the course to your needs.
Requirements to Join:
Participants must weigh at least 35 kg.
Bring your own ski/snowboard equipment, helmet, and winter outdoor clothing.
Be in normal physical condition and able to walk in snow by foot without significant difficulty.
Transportation:
We can offer a ride from Stavanger to minimize the number of cars driving to the mountains. There is space for a maximum of three passengers in our vehicle. If you’re staying at a cabin in Sirdal, simply meet us at the designated parking area.
Course Duration:
10:00 AM until sunset!
The course runs from 10:00 AM until the sun sets. If you'd like to extend to a two-day course, we can discuss options for that.
Group Size:
A minimum of two participants is required for the course to proceed.
If you’re part of a larger group, we can accommodate 8–10 participants with proper planning.
No Wind? No Problem!
Backcountry Tour Option: If you have backcountry equipment, we can explore the terrain with you or help you combine it with kiting. Backcountry touring is a great activity when the wind doesn't blow. Mixing touring with snowkiting is also available, but requires some prior experience, that opens up exciting possibilities in the local terrain.
Ski Lifts as a Backup Plan: Sirdal also has several ski lifts available for use on low-wind days, and they can even help us find wind at higher altitudes around the ski lifts.
